Veterans Assistance Benefits

US Marines serving in the Pacific The Montgomery GI Bill was created to help veterans of active duty military service pay for their education and training. VA benefits are payable to students admitted to a degree program in provisional, conditional, and full admission status to the Graduate College. Full-time students will receive a monthly stipend while taking classes that should cover tuition, fees, and books.

Note: For students taking courseSs in Florida or Virginia, please contact your Site Director to apply for VA benefits.

STo use VA benefits with OU, eligible students should:

Apply to the University of Oklahoma
Complete the appropriate VA forms that can be found at www.gibill.va.gov

VA Form 22-1990 – if this is the first time VA benefits are being used
VA Form 22-1995 – if VA benefits have been used for another institution

File the appropriate form with the correct VA Regional Processing Office

Receive the Certificate of Eligibility
Fax a copy of your VA form (22-1990 or 22-1995) with your Certificate of Eligibility to the OU Admissions/VA Office at 405-325-8492 (this may be done from your local OU site)
Give a copy to your Site Director
E-mail va@ou.edu to verify they have received your forms
Enroll in courses through enroll.ou.edu
E-mail va@ou.edu when you:
- Enroll in a course
- Drop the course
- The course dates are changed
- The course is cancelled for any reason
